James Hooker

Director & CFO

James is a chartered accountant with over 16 years’ experience in restructuring, finance, audit and accounting. James joined Somerston in December 2014 and is responsible for finance, structuring, transaction management and project accounting. Over the previous seven years James advised on, or directly managed and realised (in insolvency) a wide range of companies and property and development assets in the UK and Australia across: hotels and leisure, residential and commercial property, retail and mining services. James began his accounting career in Deloitte’s Entrepreneurial Business and Audit team in 2004, moving in 2007 to their Restructuring Services team in London. In 2011 he joined KordaMentha in Perth, one of Australia’s leading turnaround and restructuring firms. During his time in Perth James also gained valuable banking experience at Bankwest/CBA, working on secondment as a manager in the credit team on large property and corporate clients. James graduated from Nottingham University with a BSc (Hons) in Economics and is a member of both the ICAEW and the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association.
